We provide the big stuff — snorkel gear, life vests, a guide and lunch. Your job is to come prepared for a full day of sun, salt and sea. Here's exactly what to bring, organised so nothing slips through the cracks.
The non-negotiable: your ID
You cannot enter Coiba National Park without a valid passport or ID, and you'll pay the park entrance fee on arrival ($20 for foreign visitors, $5 for Panamanians). Keep it dry in a zip-lock bag. No document, no entry — so pack it first.
The essentials checklist
📄Documents & money
- Passport or ID — required for park entry
- Cash for the entrance fee and any extras (small bills help)
- A zip-lock or dry bag to keep documents and your phone dry
🧴Sun protection
- Reef-safe sunscreen — regular sunscreen harms the coral; please choose a mineral, reef-safe formula
- A hat and sunglasses for the boat ride
- A rash guard or light long-sleeve shirt — the best sun protection while snorkeling
🤿In & on the water
- Swimsuit worn under your clothes — ready to jump in
- A towel and a dry change of clothes for the trip back
- Water shoes or sandals for rocky shorelines
- A GoPro or waterproof camera — or rent one of ours for $20 to capture it all
💧Comfort & health
- A reusable water bottle — staying hydrated in the heat matters
- Light snacks if you get peckish (lunch is included)
- Motion-sickness tablets if the open water bothers you — take them before departure
- Any personal medication you need — and let us know about allergies in advance
Tell us your shoe size when you book and we'll have perfectly fitting fins waiting for you on the boat.
What to leave behind
🚫Best left at the hotel
- Single-use plastics — Coiba is a protected park; pack out everything you bring in
- Standard chemical sunscreen — it damages the reef you came to see
- Valuables and excess cash you won't need on the water
Got everything? Let's go.
